What are IGNOU Degree Certificates
The IGNOU original degree certificate is the official and final document issued by the university. It is granted only to students who have successfully completed their respective programs, including Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG), Diploma, and Certificate courses. Students can apply for their degree certificates online upon payment of the required fees. The application process is detailed below.
How To Apply For IGNOU Original Degree Certificates
Every year, IGNOU University releases a notification for the Convocation. Once the notification is out, students need to visit the official online degree registration portal to apply for their certificates.
- Step 1: Go to the official online degree registration portal to apply for your Degrees and certificates (https://onlineservices.ignou.ac.in/convocation/).
- Step 2: Carefully read all the instructions, then scroll down, check the declaration/acknowledgment box, and click the “Apply for Degree/Diploma/Certificate” button.
- Step 3: Log in or Register, Enter your roll Number and password. If you are a first-time user, you will need to register yourself on the portal first.
- Step 4: Type your Personal & Academic information. Type the mentioned information accurately: (Your Full Name and Your DOB, Your Opted Program Code (e.g., BAG, MA, BCOM), Program completed year, Your respective Regional Centre, and Study Centre)
- Step 5: Type the accurate Delivery Postal Address where students want to get their Degree certificate. Doube check your postal address, PIN code, and contact number.
- Step 6: After that, IUGNOU students need to pay the registration fee using the online payment methods like Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking.
- Step 7: After a fee payment, IGNOU students need to download and print the payment receipt. Students need to keep the receipt safe for the degree certificate dispatch tracking process.

How IGNOU Students Can Receive Their Marksheets
IGNOU students can obtain their degree certificates in two ways. First, they can attend the Convocation Ceremony and collect their certificate in person. Second, the university will automatically send the degree certificates via Speed Post to the address provided by the eligible students while online application process.
Final Words
IGNOU University provides original degree certificates only to those students who have successfully completed their entire course. Eligible students have to apply through the official degree registration portal to obtain their certificates. Therefore, students who have not yet received their degree certificates should apply on the portal; once the application is processed, your degree will be dispatched within 40 days.
